Happiness is:
1. Being able to decorate for Halloween! My mom sent me a huge box full of Halloween decorations for my dorm. however, I already have enough stuff on my walls plus my room is small. I ended up decorating the RA office downstairs. Everyone loved it! I'm glad I didn't miss out this year to decorate. I love Halloween!!!
2. Having your best friend call you to see if you're ok.
3. Having time to focus on my cross-stitching. I don't know what happened but I have this sudden urge to cross-stitch as much as I can get in. I guess the creative side of my brain has finally woken up!
"Shiawase", (pronounced as SHE-AH-WAH-SAY) in Japanese means "Happiness". After my divorce a year ago, I fell into severe depression from a broken heart. I created this blog to help me focus on the positives aspects in my life. Inspired by my close friend "The Tyger" and Clare's "Three Beautiful Things" blog, I will try and write three positives that happen in my life.

Recently graduated with my Master's degree in Deaf Studies from Gallaudet University. Still divorced and trying to figure out where life will take me or do to me next. No matter how much I move around, how many places I will live, or where I finally decide to settle...my home will always be the Bay Area in California.

- Worked as a teacher in Japan for 2 years
- Bought my car in cash
- Taught high school and college students for 5 years
- Lost 40lbs and have kept it off for 3 years
- Traveled through many different parts of the US
- Proficient in American Sign Language & conversational level Japanese (read, write & speak)
- I have my Master's degree! Class of 2008!
